A few twists and turns in life, down the road, came another restaurant and a stint as a night club manager on the north coast of Mendocino, at the Caspar Inn. This was the hottest club on the north coast for years. Finally, back to school and my first love, food and cooking.
After graduation, I was off to Switzerland and Italy to work at my trade and improve my skills. Lots of work and little pay -- it was great. However, I did realize that I was not going to have the energy to keep up with the younger generation in the kitchen. So, after working in several restaurants in the states, I decided to look for a new career.
I met Janie Williams, owner of Home and Farm Supply in Jackson CA. www.biggestlittlekitchenstore.com This has got to be one of the premier kitchen stores in the country. I worked sales and did a lot of the buying. This gave me the opportunity to see just about every kitchen gadget in existence, and to try them for myself. Well, I did just that. And after a lot of thought and trials, I developed the Turn-It. I have to be very honest, I am not a person who uses a lot of gadgets in the kitchen -- I can do most tasks with just a knife, but this garlic press works, works easy and works well.
It was 3 years in development and with the help of KAS engineering in Santa Monica CA, they produced the turn-it for me. Klaus and Scott Shoenberger have been great to work with. I hope you have enjoyed this snap-shot of how I got here and that you enjoy your Turn-It. If you have any questions, please write me at Turnit@wildblue.net, or contact a rep, or call me.
